Most successful studio ranges are built on one fabric customers fall in love with. Nylon/spandex knits with bare-spandex or interlock construction give the soft, second-skin feel yoga customers expect. Pick the fabric first, then design the bra, legging and short around it.
Yoga wear needs four-way stretch that comes back to shape after deep poses. Ask for stretch and recovery to be checked at sampling, and wash-test the fabric before approving bulk.
Matching sets only work if the colours match. Cutting all pieces of a colourway from one fabric lot and approving lab dips for each colour keeps bras, leggings and shorts consistent.
Flat seams, no front seam on leggings, soft binding on bras and wide, high-rise waistbands make the difference between a legging people practise in and one they return. Decide on removable cups for bras early; they affect the pattern.
